Paul Edward Williams

Paul Edward Williams, 68, passed away on July 23, 2026, in Pueblo, Colorado. He was born on October 22, 1957, in Oxnard, California, to Billy Marie “Marie” Gibson and Paul E. Williams. Paul spent most of his life in Trinidad, Colorado, a place he proudly called home.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He served as a rifleman with Company G, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 1st Marine Division. He attained the rank of Private First Class and was honorably discharged in 1976. He earned the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, and being a Marine remained an important and proud part of who he was throughout his life.

Paul worked for Burlington Northern Railroad and was known for his strength, determination, and larger-than-life presence. He was tough, strong-willed, and never afraid to stand up for what he believed in.

Beneath that toughness was a fiercely loyal and generous man. Paul would do absolutely anything for the people he loved and would give someone the shirt off his back without hesitation. His strength, loyalty, generosity, and unforgettable spirit were part of everything he did.

Paul had a lifelong passion for speed, racing, and powerful machines. He especially loved his AMC cars—the Javelin and Rebel “The Machine”—and took great pride in them. His love of the open road extended to Harley-Davidson motorcycles, which represented the freedom, strength, and adventure that were such an important part of who he was.

Paul had a deep love for the outdoors and was happiest when he was surrounded by nature. He especially enjoyed anything involving the water, including scuba diving, rafting, and fishing. He also loved archery and spending time outdoors, where he could embrace the adventure, freedom, and peace that meant so much to him.

Those who knew Paul will remember the strength of his character, the loyalty he showed to those he loved, and the unmistakable presence he carried wherever he went. Above all, he was a devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend—strong-willed, fiercely protective, deeply generous, and impossible to forget.

Paul was preceded in death by his father, Paul E. Williams; his mother, Billy Marie “Marie” Gibson; his maternal grandparents, William T. and Mary Gibson; his uncles, Edward (Elizabeth) Gibson and Max (Carol) Gallegos; and his aunts, Faye (Corky) Incitti and Lucille Salazar.

He is survived by his daughter, Lacey Beth Williams, and her partner, Christine Vigil; his brother, William Gibson; his nieces, Amber Gibson and Kayla Gibson; and numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him deeply.

Paul’s memory will live on through the stories shared, the roads traveled, the engines that roared, the waters explored, and the love he left behind.
